SPLIT SYSTEMS ARE ALL WE DO.

SPLIT SYSTEMS ARE ALL WE DO

You would think we’d be good at them 🙁

Putting out a fire in a heat pump air conditioner

You know what they say about assumption.

Are you tired of sweltering summers and frozen winters in Melbourne? Look on the bright side, at least you’re not in Sydney, Hobart or Gaza. Thank the lord for small victories. The other good thing about this city is we’re in it. You can’t get a Melbourne Split System in London and you can’t get one in Bombay. The only place you can get one is right here in sunny Melbourne. Funny that.

But you didn’t land here to just for fun. The mission was to learn about air conditioning installation. Split systems. Sizing, Price, Location and When. Usually in that order. Ultimately your mission is to make your home comfortable so that going home is almost tolerable. .

It’s very lucky you found us now, because we cannot offer you advice on any other subject, and if we did, the best advice would be not to listen. The only thing we really know about is these air conditioners. Even if you buy one from soemwhere else, feel free to flick through, get what you need and go. Take our price list to Franko Cozzo AC in Footescray. “Can you beat that?” Kampradeh to Franko Cozzo. We just saved you a hundred bucks, Now send us half.

Everything you need to know about split systems, heat pumps, mini splits, air conditioners or that square thing outside – you can find here.

A split system, also known as a minisplit, ductless system, a heat pump, an air conditioner, and sometimes even a workbench, is a heating / cooling appliance with two components. The indoor unit is installed inside your office or commercial space, while the outdoor unit is placed outside, as close to the head unit as possible. This setup allows for flexible and efficient heating and cooling, without the need for ductwork. In addition, split systems are often more energy-efficient than traditional central air conditioning systems, which can save you money on your utility bills. They also offer greater flexibility in terms of installation, as they do not require the installation of ducts throughout your building.

WHAT TYPE OF SPLIT SYSTEM?

Wall mounted split systems by Melbourne Split sytsems

Choices can be overwhelming at first, Do I need one on the floor, wall or roof? The easy answer is it doesn’t matter where you put it. The thing should still cool your home, but there are some that work better in the lounge room and others more suited to retail or commercian installation.

If the air conditioner is going in your home, then your best bet is a wall mounted unit. Best running costs, lowest install costs, lowest repair costs because there’s more of these than any other type. Ceiling Cassettes are big in Perth I am told, but that’s in like Africa or something and I don’t want to go overseas just to see an air con. The floor mounted ones are more often used for heating, but that was before Daniel Andrews f*** everything because hes just a f**wit. Whoever told him we need to hike gas prices to save the climate should be arrested. Yeah good idea brainiac, we’ll all freeze to death because gas for our heating systems is too expensive, so you can have all the climate you want

HOW DOES IT HEAT AND COOL MORE EFFICIENTLY THAN GAS?

It doesn’t. Natural gas is still far more energy efficient than power, but George Soros and Bill Gates were siphoning money from ther USA under the Democrats and made up this great big climate change hoax. Daniel Andrew good little shabbos goy that he is, put a massive tax on gas because he was told to. How this fits in with climate hoax is a mystery, I think its just another way to make our lives just that little bit less pleasant. A long slippery slope we have been on for some time.
Well that’s crap. Thanks for cheering me up! Yeah well, sorry but its true. You still need to keep your house warm, so while you’re here, check out our prices page because we charge less for a better job than the other blokes.

HOW DOES THE SPLIT SYSTEM DO ITS THING?

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, a British engineer named Lord Kelvin (William Thomson) proposed the idea of using a heat engine to pump heat from one location to another. However, it wasn’t until the 1940s that the first practical air conditioner was developed by a team of engineers at the United States Department of Agriculture.
One of the key figures in the development of modern air conditioners which later became known as split systems or coldness making box thingis, was a man named Carl Munters, a Swedish engineer who invented the first practical air conditionerin the 1920s. Munters’ design used a compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator to transfer heat from one location to another. His invention paved the way for the development of modern split systems, which are now used in homes, businesses, and industries all over the world.

A split system consists of several key components:

1. Compressor: This is the heart of the split system, responsible for compressing the refrigerant and pumping it through the system
2. Condenser: This is where the hot refrigerant gas is cooled and condensed back into a liquid.
3. Evaporator: This is where the cold refrigerant liquid is heated and evaporated into a gas.
4. Expansion Valve: This is a valve that reduces the pressure of the refrigerant as it enters the evaporator.
5. Refrigerant: This is the liquid that circulates through the system, transferring heat from one location to another.

In cooling mode, the split system works like an air conditioner. Here’s how it works:

1. The compressor compresses the refrigerant, causing it to become hot and high-pressure.
2. The hot refrigerant gas is pumped to the condenser, where it is cooled by the surrounding air.
3. As the refrigerant cools, it condenses back into a liquid and releases its heat to the surrounding air.
4. The liquid refrigerant then passes through the expansion valve, which reduces its pressure and allows it to expand.
5. The cold, low-pressure refrigerant then enters the evaporator, where it is heated by the warm air from the room.
6. As the refrigerant is heated, it evaporates into a gas and absorbs heat from the surrounding air.

7. The cold air is then blown into the room, cooling it down.

In heating mode, the split system works like a heater. Here’s how it works:

1. The compressor compresses the refrigerant, causing it to become hot and high-pressure.
2. The hot refrigerant gas is pumped to the evaporator, where it is heated by the surrounding air.
3. As the refrigerant is heated, it evaporates into a gas and absorbs heat from the surrounding air.
4. The hot refrigerant gas is then pumped to the condenser, where it is cooled by the surrounding air.
5. As the refrigerant cools, it condenses back into a liquid and releases its heat to the surrounding air.
6. The warm air is then blown into the room, heating it up.

Split systems have several benefits that make them an attractive option for heating and cooling: Energy Efficiency: Split systems are highly energy-efficient, as they can transfer heat from one location to another without generating heat from fuel. Environmental Benefits: Split systems are a more environmentally friendly option than traditional HVAC systems, as they don’t burn fossil fuels and don’t produce greenhouse gas emissions. Cost-Effective: Split systems save homeowners money on their energy bills, as they can provide both heating and cooling with a single unit. Space-Saving: split systems are often more compact than traditional HVAC systems, making them ideal for homes with limited space.

But best of all, split systems can last for 20-30 years or more, compared to traditional HVAC systems which typically last for 10-20 years.
